LABOR VOTING
RECORD - SENATE 2008
123rd MAINE
LEGISLATURE
NAME CHANGES 2007 - 2008
During 2007 Rep. Abbie Holman died and was replaced by Rep. Dean
Jones who also died and late in the year was replaced by his wife Rep. Pat
Jones. Since the first two representatives each voted only twice on our selected
labor votes, they have not been included at all in the 2007 House Labor Vote
table. The votes of Pat Jones will show up in the 2008 House Labor Vote table.
There were four other deaths or resignations of Representatives in 2007.
Replacements were elected in November 2008. This creates a difference of five
names between the 2007 and 2008 House Labor vote tables.
NOTE: The chart below
covers eight key votes of importance to working families in Maine cast by
Maine senators at the 2008 session of the Maine Legislature. It gives the
name, party affiliation, home town and Legislative District of each of the
members of the Maine House. The names are arranged alphabetically.
An "R" indicates a "right" vote and a "W" indicates a "wrong" vote. The
number at the top of the column indicates the measure that was voted on.
The columns, to the far right, indicate the percentage of "right" votes
cast during the 2008 session, "right" votes cast during the 2006 session,
the combined percentage of "right" votes cast in 2007-2008. The percentage
is based on total votes actually cast. If the senator is absent or
excused there is an "X". The material "Labor Vote Information" below
provides a brief description of the measure vote on, the Legislative
Document (LD) number, the roll call number in the Senate (SRC) or in the
House (HRC).
